Baby Cristolin’s Open Heart Surgery.

Hello friends, family and community. Thank you for taking the time to open our fundraiser. My name is Neecole and my Husband Cristobal and I welcomed our sweet baby girl into the world on 05/13/23, very suddenly. Cristolin was born at 34 weeks weighing 2lbs 15oz

The day before we had just went to a regular doctor’s visit and they noticed her heart rate was declining when I had contractions, I was immediately sent to the hospital for admission to be on continuous monitoring and her heart rate continued to drop over 24 hrs. I was scheduled for an emergency C-section. Doctor said its better to get her out, then to take a chance on her dying in utero.

From ultrasounds that we had at around 20 weeks we were aware that she’d need a minor surgery for a VSD in her heart when she turns 6 weeks, but after she was born Doctors were able to preform the ultrasound on her and found 4 other heart defects that are much more serious and can’t be done until she reaches 15lbs, she also has T-18 a chromosome disorder.

The hardship is coming from the distance between our baby girl and home being over an hour away.

We are so very fortunate to be able to travel to our girl, but the travel and accommodation is expensive.

We only have one vehicle and I’m recovering from the C-section and can’t drive, I need to bring her breast milk and bond with her during this important stage of her new life daily. Her arrival shouldn’t have been until June, 24th 2023.

These new health findings are a complete shock and will need help covering the insurance deductibles/copays and away from home stays. This unexpected experience has caused some financial instability for the foreseeable next few months. Also this hospital is the only one in the state that will do the operations to save her life with her being a T-18 baby, so going to a closer hospital is not an option. She will be in the hospital for many months and we want to make sure our daughter is receiving the best care possible, while also maintaining our home and balancing our careers to ensure she has a great home to come to upon discharge. If you can donate anything at all we would be so grateful. Easing the stress of this sudden situation is appreciated.
