Baby Dylan’s Bladder Exstrophy Repair !
Donation protected
Some of you know already but for others asking Baby Dylan was born with a very rare condition called Bladder Exstrophy.
The bladder develops outside the fetus and it's literally located outside of his body. This situation requires several series of surgeries ! It’s very uncomfortable for him and so sad to see him going through this. It breaks our hearts !!! Thankfully the first surgery is coming up soon which is basically the closure surgery !!
The pelvic bones will be cut and then brought together as the bladder is placed back inside.
The surgeries will be out of state in Baltimore MD , 8 hrs away and we will have to be away from home admitted in the hospital for a couple of months!
Also meaning having to stay out of work as well to be able to be there for him !!
With the time I will be taking off of work, (which is my full time job that takes care of my family) it is going to put a strain on our finances as we depend on my income to help pay our bills.
We also have 2 other boys that would need to go back and forth as needed to be able to visit or have them with us , and try to stay caught up with school. All while my newborn is undergoing surgery and working on recovery.
We all know it’s not cheap anymore to get anywhere !! We are hoping to get help with housing but still waiting for an answer with the hospital about that !!!
This is going to be a long road for us so we ask you all to keep him in your prayers for happiness and a heathy recovery!!!
With all that being said we are officially welcoming any donations because this is going to be a long tough road and we need all the help and support we can get right now because this is a very struggling time . It's a long time to be away from home but we have to do whatever we can for the well-being of the kids.
Any kind of help at all could possibly help make this transition a little easier. We have never went through anything like this, nor have we ever had to ask for help. This was a case that we were not expecting, very stressful, heartbreaking, but we have to make sure our baby gets the best health care possible !!
!! We want to thank you all in advance ❤️
Update Dylan is now going for his second surgery March 6th ! He will be having • Epispadias repair: . Time of surgery and the extent of the surgery is dependent on the size of the bladder and the deformity of the penis. At this stage, the urethra on top of the flattened penis is closed and transferred to below the corporal bodies as in the normal penis.
• Hospital stay depends of how everything goes an after being released from hospital we will have to stay in town 20 days. Should be in a reg room unless he is rowdy then he will have to be in picu. He will have a tube/Stent for 10-12 days !
• No climbing or jumping or riding toys for 3 weeks after surgery . Since he is walking he will need to be very careful after to heal !!
