Baby Gabriella’s Medical Treatment

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT GABRIELLA

Hi, my name is Kimberly. I’m here to ask for help with donations so my niece, Gabriella can get the medical treatment she needs.

Gabriella’s Story
My niece Gabriella Rose Grasso was born on 7/23/2022

Shortly after, they found 3 masses.

Her treatment is going to be very expensive and insurance is only covering 80% of her medical bills after a $2,500 deductible. Gabriella has a long road ahead of her.

Below is a list of what Miss Gabriella is currently dealing with

3 masses: 1) opening of the right ear canal, 2) pressing on the nerve in the right ear, 3) on the right lateral side of the brain stem.

The masses have not been officially identified but, at least the one we can see, is believed to be a hemangioma. This type of mass is a non cancerous overgrowth of vessels and typically are left untreated but given where her masses are located they can have life altering defects (ie - hearing loss, deformed structure of the inner and outer right ear, pressing on brain possibly causing neurological defects, pain from pressing on nerve, ect) the mass on the ear is possibly a vestibular schwannoma but these have not been confirmed.

Also diagnosed with: 1) laryngomalacia (an airway defect) possibly needing surgery, 2) bifurcated uvula, 3) submucous soft palete cleft.

Possibly being diagnosed with PHACE, this condition has about 400 cases documented in medical literature.

These diagnoses come with breathing difficulties, aspiration while eating, speech delays due to cleft palate, potentially surgery on her airway (bronchoscopy and supraglottoplasty), possibly needing surgery to remove the masses later down the road if medication does not work.

Treating doctors include:
- primary care
- ENT
- neurologist
- hematology/oncology
- Gastrointestinal (GI)
- pulmonologist
- speech language pathologist
- airway clinic
Treatment:
-Has had 2 MRIs to see how rapidly the masses are growing, each MRI showed a new internal mass
- Auditory brain stem response (ABR) hearing test which she will be sedated for on 9/12
- admitted to hospital on 9/13 to trial propranolol tolerance to see if this med will help shrink the masses and will need a follow up MRI in 4 weeks
- while admitted she is having an abdominal ultrasound and an echo of her heart to look for any more masses that could be blocking vital organs from functioning appropriately
- seeing neurologist 9/22
- seeing airway clinic 9/27 to discuss treatment (possibly supraglottoplasty and bronchoscopy) the bronchoscopy will determine if there are any masses in her airway that could cause breathing difficulties

All donations will be going towards Gabby’s medical bills.

Any donation is much appreciated, no matter how big or small. Your donation will allow Gabriella’s family to focus on what is most important-providing Gabriella with the love and support she will need during these difficult times. Your love and prayers are everything to the Grasso/Ross family.

Thank you for your time and support❤️

With love,

Family of Gabriella Grasso
