Baby Gibeau Needs Heart Surgery

Dear Friends and Family,

We are reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for your support for our daughter, Taylor and her husband Jeremy. As many of you know, they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl. However, they’ve recently received the devasting news that their baby has been diagnosed with a serious congenital heart defect that will require immediate specialized surgery within 2 weeks of her birth.

Taylor is now being monitored at the high-risk pregnancy hospital here in Reno, Nevada but will have to relocate out of state one month before her due date. They have decided to receive care at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Stanford California, which has one of the best Fetal and Pregnancy Health Programs on the West Coast. Stanford will be able to accommodate them for prenatal care, delivery, pediatric cardiologist visits, pediatric cardiothoracic surgery and NICU stay, all within the same facility. After the baby is born, she will be in the NICU for at least one month and Taylor and Jeremy will have to remain in California until they can bring her home. The baby will then have follow-up visits with her cardiac team in Stanford and will require additional surgery between the age of 1 and 2 and in her early to mid-teens.

While we remain hopeful for a positive outcome, the financial burden of this situation is overwhelming. In addition to the anticipated out of network medical care, costs for travel and accommodations, there will also be loss of wages due to time away from work. This has created a financial strain that they had not planned for.

Therefore, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover these anticipated expenses. Any contribution would be deeply appreciated and will go directly toward supporting Taylor and Jeremy as they navigate through this challenging time.
