Baby Giles Heart Surgery
Donation protected
UPDATE: Baby Giles has made it through surgery! Everything went smoothly and according to plan! I cannot thank you all enough for your contributions and helping me meet this goal! The Brinson’s are very grateful for your generosity and are so glad to be on the other side of this heart surgery. They have a few tough weeks ahead of them and would appreciate your prayers during this time. Thank you so much again for donating!
Hi, my name is Annabelle and I am fundraising in order to cover costs associated with baby Giles’ heart surgery. My sisters baby and my nephew, Giles, was born back in June of this year. Shortly after he arrived we found out he suffered from a heart defect known as TAPVC that required open heart surgery. The plan all along was to wait as long as possible in order for baby Giles to grow strong before surgery. Giles has been growing and getting strong for a full 5 months! But, the time has come. Surgery was originally scheduled for October but was pushed back due to Giles catching RSV. Which of course, has only extended this emotional rollercoaster. My sister and her family were originally on a waiting list for the Ronald McDonald house, which is a fantastic organization helping take the burden off of families in these already tough situations. However, they came to find out there are six other applicants for the same dates. Needing to get down to MUSC in Charleston to start surgery preparations, they had to make the call to get their own place to stay where they can all be together as a family in this time of uncertainty. With the Holidays coming up, I would love to see if we can help this family cover the cost of their stay. They will have to be housed for at least a week in Charleston assuming everything goes smoothly. With two other little ones, I would love to take this financial burden off of the family so they can focus on getting Giles home, recovered and enjoy the holidays as a family.
