Baby Jade and her Cancer Relapse :(
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Justine and I am starting this go fund me page to help us during this difficult time to get through the financial distress that awaits ahead of us. I’m not one to do fundraising, but I know many people like to help in times of need as this and thought I’d give it a try.
Jade is my niece who I been caring for since she was two weeks old. She was diagnosed at 10 months with Infant ALL Leukemia Cancer and did inside chemotherapy treatment at CHEO Children’s hospital in Ottawa. After going into remission and being away from home for 9 months we were finally able to return home and start living a normal life again.
February 12th, 2023 was Jade’s last day of chemotherapy treatment. Baby Jade is now 3 years old and has been sick since June 10th, 2023 and with many hospital visits and even being admitted, after seeing 5 different doctors and getting all same results that everything was fine and normal but couldn’t explain why she was not improving with her health but only getting worst … they finally sent us back to CHEO for further testing.
Sad to say… after not even 5 months of being in remission, on July 27th, 2023 she had a cancer relapse her Leukemia Cancer has come back. Jade will be spending 4 months in CHEO Hospital in Ottawa to start aggressively intense Chemotherapy that will be given through IV, along with twice a week Lumbar Punctures and chemotherapy given through the spine to try and kill off the cancer cells as fast as they can that are all around in the fluid around her brain and in her spine. Her Leukemia is all around her central nervous system, but it’s not directly in her brain just all around it which is why they need to treat it aggressively. Jade will then be transferred to sick kids hospital in Toronto where she will go through more treatment and receive a stem cell bone marrow transplant for an average of 3-4 months.
Another long road ahead of us as we are hit with this devastating news and more harder to handle this second time around. We will be away from home and family for approximately 8-9 months depending how well her body responds to the treatment. Just like anybody else I do have bills, utilities, insurances and stuff to pay back home as well. And having to be away from home for such a difficult time like this can put a financial strain on one’s mental health. I am reaching out for financial support for the long road we have ahead of us and if you feel in your hearts to donate or give I would forever appreciate every little bit of help we can receive. Even if you can’t afford to help in such a time as this, just please keep Baby Jade in your prayers always as she could use all the prayers she can get for the tough times to come ahead.
God bless you all! ❤️
p.s I do have two daughters of my own who I will not see once again for another 8-9 months, now that restrictions are lifted I will be able to bring my daughters for a visit time to time as last time I only seen my girls one time out of 9 months and it was because my father and stepmother brought them for a visit when Jade first was diagnosed with cancer . Every donation will be able to help us in many different forms during this long time away from home. Thank you all very much, God bless!
UPDATE AS OF OCTOBER 11th, 2023:
Baby Jade is now in complete remission no more cancer cells left in her brain or spinal. We were suppose to do the Bone Marrow and Radiation at Sick kids but change of treatment plan Jade qualifies and was approved by the cancer board of Ontario to receive the Car T-Cell therapy treatment at Sick Kids in Toronto. It is a new treatment that just came out within the last decade and for cancer patients who are ALL Leukemia who had a relapse and because she has no more cancer cells in her brain and none in her spine she was accepted into this new treatment. We leave to Toronto to Sick Kids October 15th or 16th and if everything goes well according to plan the goal is to get us home by Christmas. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has donated so far and most of all has kept us in your prayers. Please continue to keep praying for Jade that this treatment will work and that she can be cured! Thank you❤️ I will update again later as the treatment goes on and let you all know where we are at but right now we are still in Ottawa and heading to Toronto next week!
