Help Baby Jade & The Ramey Family
Donation protected
Jade, 11-month-old daughter of Kaylee and JB Ramey, was diagnosed at 3-months-old with septo-optic dysplasia, diabetes insipidus, adrenal insufficiency, panhypopituitarism, and intractable focal epilepsy. This type of epilepsy is characterized by seizures uncontrolled with medication or treatment, or “hard to treat” epilepsy. Despite months of trialing all of the best anti-seizure medications available, Jade has had to live a life with seizures occurring multiple times every day as well as frequent life-threatening electrolyte and hormone imbalances. Since her diagnoses 8 months ago, Jade has been hospitalized 14 times, almost all of them having spent the first several days in the pediatric ICU because of how the seizures and her comorbidities exacerbate one another and put Jade into situations that require emergent critical care attention. She has seen the inside of a life-flight helicopter, spent her first Christmas in the ICU, and has been hospitalized for many of her precious early milestones. The family was told by her team of neurologists that Jade was the perfect candidate for epilepsy neurosurgery and the relief at the thought of Jade’s life without seizures had set in. On December 18th at 10-months-old, Jade’s surgery came and went. Since then, unfortunately, Jade has been back in the pediatric ICU fighting for her life three additional times with post-op complications, a second emergency neurosurgery, and recurring epileptic events. She is in the ICU again as you read this post. In her four trips to the ICU in five weeks and the no visitors under 12-years-old policy at the children’s hospital, JB and Kaylee have been unable to work while one parent is in the hospital with Jade, and the other with their 6-year-old daughter Rosie. Contributions will help the family worry only for Jade and her health and less on the financial burden attached to missing work, frequent hospitalizations, and past hotel stays while their baby girl is in the hospital far from their home. The family is also asking for prayers to bring Jade home once and for all. ♥️
