Friends and family near and far,
Many of you may not be aware that my daughter Ashley and Son-in-law Brandon have been hit with some devastating news regarding my grandson Jameson.
Here is Jameson's story as told by his parents:
“We found out we were pregnant and were over the moon to add our final addition to our family due in July 2023. At our 20-week anatomy scan, we were told that our baby had a mass on his left adrenal gland most likely to be a hemorrhage, but we were given a long list of other terrifying things that it could be. We followed up monthly for ultrasounds and were told we would know what exactly we were dealing with once he was earthside.
Well, on June 5th, 2023, our sweet Jameson came into the world on his terms flying into the Drs. arms (literally!). He got a scan done at less than an hour old, we were hopeful we would get an answer but unfortunately that wasn't the case. At 24 hours old Jameson went into respiratory distress and was whisked away to the NICU where he stayed for 16 long days. Over the last month and a half, we found ourselves in an Oncology office having test after test run to find out some answers. We were told we are most likely dealing with a Neuroblastoma- a rare form of childhood cancer. One of those terrifying words on that list we were given so long ago has become our reality. We went for an ultrasound that showed no change in the tumor but now a lesion was found on his liver. Our world is now upside down, it feels like we were going through the motions, our team of Drs. tripled in size, and a whole different set of testing, and trying to keep things as normal as possible for Dominic and Peyton feels almost impossible. This past week we went for an MRI and MIBG scan where our almost 2-month-old baby was taken away to be sedated. After 2 long 9-hour days at the hospital Jameson was having trouble breathing at home, after an ER trip and more poking and prodding, we got his breathing under control. We found out he has hypertension due to the tumor pressing on the kidney, but after 5 days we finally got to come home! We have a long road ahead of us and many unknowns, including operations, treatments and travel but we have faith that we will come out on the other side stronger than ever. The C word is always scary and something no parent ever wants to hear, but we must stay strong for all our kids and be there for all of them during this time. If we don't answer texts or calls right away, we are trying to get our heads wrapped around all of this. We are private people and don't like to share but right now we need all hands on deck!"
This is a long journey for all involved and we are asking those who know and love this sweet little family to help in any way they can. With bills already adding up, and with an uncertain future, Ashley will need to take time away from work to deal with baby Jamerson’s doctors’ appointments and treatments. PRAYERS are needed more now than ever as well. Please help me to support them and let them know that their village is here to help.
If Ashley and Brandon are fortunate enough to receive a lesser prognosis and the funds are not needed. The remainder will be paid forward to another family on this unfortunate journey.
Thank you for considering donating as we are all a part of #JamesonsJourney!
