Support Baby Joanie's NICU Journey

Hello, my name is Whitney Lawhorn and I am the new Mimi to Joanie Bliss Payne, daughter to Brittney Crowder and Aaron Payne. I am organizing this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden of NICU medical care for my sweet little grand and her parents. Joanie was delivered at 29 weeks via c-section due to severe preeclampsia. Mommy Britt has continued to have issues with her blood pressure and has not been discharged home since her delivery September 28, 2023. Baby Joanie is in stable condition, but of course they monitor every tiny thing about her moment by moment. She is stable on o2, CPAP, IV fluids, but is currently dealing with a collapsed left lung (which appears to be getting some better). Joanie is expected to be in the NICU for a minimum of 9 weeks.

Mom and Dad will encounter difficulties in affording the things they need in this new and challenging lifestyle they are about to navigate. Brittney will be home for post-surgery recovery soon and Aaron will be back to work - but because Brittney’ small dental practice does not offer short term disability (therefore only one income), there will be gaps. While we cannot lesson the stress and emotional journey for Mom and Dad, we hope you will join us in raising funds to assist cover daily expenses for them such as gasoline for trips to the NICU, and possibly groceries, housing costs and healthcare provider co-pays, etc. The hope is that it will provide them with some relief and support them so that they are able to spend as much time as possible with the baby.
