Baby Kadence

My sister and her husband had a perfect pregnancy and never expected what they have experienced the past month and a half. Their little girl Kadence was born into the world on January 9th 2017. What they thought would be a perfect day of bringing their baby into this world turned into a crazy roller coaster of a ride. Kadence was born with respiratory failure. They quickly flew her to MUSC from Beaufort after the delivery. She was put directly on the ventilator when she got there. Kadence has had multiple test while at MUSC to try and discover why she has trouble breathing on her own. Basically every test she has had has come back normal showing no reason to her trouble of breathing. The doctors have continued to scratch their head wondering why everything has come back normal but yet Kadence has failed three attempts off the Ventilator. With that being said the doctors have finally somewhat found an answer to explain her respiratory trouble. Something in Kadence's brain is not stemming her to breathe. At this time no more test nor surgery can be done. Kadence will go home with a tracheal cannula to help support her breathing. Please if you can help support their family as this precious little girl will most likely be a "million" dollar baby after her almost two month stay in the hospital and all of the testing that has been done. Also due to the respiratory support she will need she will not be able to go to day care, meaning Lauren will have to stay at home with her.
