Hello everybody! My name is Emma and I am creating this go fund me to help support the Cooks!

As some of you may already know, Blaire went into early preterm labour and delivered baby boy Kayce Cook at just 28 weeks on the evening of February 11th. Weighing in at a mighty strong 3.3 lbs, Kayce was airlifted and transported via HART team to Vancouver, where he will remain for additional supports at BC children’s. Supports Kayce is currently receiving includes breathing support (cpap), IV antibiotics for sepsis (infection), parental nutrition (fed through an IV), PICC insertion (long term IV), oral gastric feeding tube (to supplement feeds), as well as numerous different monitors to keep a close eye on his vital signs.

As Blaire and Kian were expecting baby boy to arrive near Blaire’s due date of May 05th, I am creating this go fund me to help this loving family out! They would never ask for any monetary assistance, but due to these unforeseen circumstances, Kian will be off work to support Blaire + Kayce as they navigate being new parents in an unfamiliar setting. Updates will be provided throughout Kayce’s hospital stay, but for now the new family of 3 are estimated to be in Vancouver for up to 2-3 months before being transported to KGH and then VJH prior to discharge. Both Blaire and Kian expected to be working a little bit longer before baby boy made his grand entrance into the world, so this go fund me will hopefully relieve some financial stress so the family can focus on getting Kayce stronger and healthy as they have a long road ahead of them. They have both applied for assistance from the government, but as we all know, cost of living is expensive. They are currently staying in a hotel and have to pay upfront hotel fees until March 03rd prior to a partial reimbursement in the future. They will then be moved to the Ronald McDonald house. They leave behind their household of 4 animals back in Vernon. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and I promise you, no one deserves this more than this family!
