Baby Keelee

Donation protected
Hi my name is Jessica. On June 27 my fiancé Hunter and I welcomed our first
child - our baby girl Keelee to the world at Kingston General. What was supposed to have been a planned induction turned into an emergency C-Section due to Keelee’s heart rate dropping. Once the c-section was complete Keelee was rushed to the NICU before we could hold her or really even see her and I was taken down to a cardiac unit for my own heart problems. After 12 hours of being in cardiac unit I was finally able to meet my daughter who was in an incubator in the NICU. Keelee has been having issues keeping her sugars up to acceptable levels which is affecting her ability to feed properly. We have had a couple close calls where her levels have dropped significantly but she keeps fighting. We are unsure at the moment when Keelee will be strong enough to come home as of yet. My fiancé Hunter and I have been driving back
and forth between Belleville & Kingston to see our daughter and bring her breast milk that I have been pumping everyday. What should have been a time of bonding and resting and healing with our daughter has now turned into a struggle driving back and forth to the hospital with gas prices steadily climbing. I have been unable to get the proper rest after this C-section surgery and my fiancé has had no rest either with trying to take care of me and traveling bacK and forth to the hospital to see our daughter. With household bills coming up and the need for gas in the vehicle and for parking at the hospital we have been struggling a lot these past few days. The emotional toll this has caused
is overwhelming to say the least. We would like to be able to stay up in Kingston with Keelee but that is a luxury we cannot afford at this time as Hunter needs to Go to work in order for us to pay our bills and pay for gas, food & parking fees to go up Kingston to see Keelee. This was an unexpected situation with our daughter and it has been heartbreaking not having her home with us and having to drive 1 hour there and 1 hour back just to visit her in the hospital. Please keep Keelee in your hearts & prayers as she continues on this road to recovery and is safe at home in our arms
