Baby Knox Halliday Heart Surgery and Recovery
Donation protected
A dear friend of mine Samantha Halliday, was overjoyed with happiness when she found out she was pregnant with her third child! She recently married the love of her life Jacob Halliday. Both of them have two older children of their own and wanted another to complete their family. Their wish came true when Sam found out she was pregnant in October. Even more joy followed when they found out they were having a little boy and his name would be Knox.
Their joy soon became uncertainty and insurmountable worry. After multiple ultrasounds they found out that Baby Knox has tetrology of the fallot/pulmonary astesia and major aortopulmonary collateral arteries. He does not have a pulmonary artery. This condition can be fatal if not treated surgically.
Thankfully Dr Frank Hanley a pediatric cardio/thoracicsurgeon at Stanford Childrens can help them. He is a renowned surgeon and this type of surgery is his specialty. Samantha will need to be in Palo Alto, CA for at least one month before she delivers Baby Knox. Once he is born a series of tests will be done to determine exactly what procedures need to be done and in what order. Samantha and Knox may need to stay in Palo Alto for an undetermined amount of time after he is born in order to finish up all surgeries and procedures that are needed.
These are WONDERFUL people who just want their precious child to survive. The financial burden is quite extensive. Jacob will be with her when the baby is born and for as many procedures as possible. The money made from this fundraiser will go to medical and travel expenses. Please find it in your heart to help in any way you can.
