Baby Kynslee Hedrick's Memorial and Medical Bills

Donation protected

This Memorial Fundraiser is being created to help with funeral and memorial expenses for Corin and Wesaly Hedrick's daughter Kynslee Rae.
02/25/21-03/08/21

Corin and Wesaly are high school sweethearts. They got married in 2019 and  made the big move from California to Idaho. They bought their first home  with the hopes of having children and starting a family of their own. They were thrilled when they learned Corin was pregnant and carrying a baby girl! Her due date was March 10, 2021. Corin's pregnancy was uneventful and everything was going as planned. Mommy and Baby were doing great with no indications of any health issues to be worried about. Corin was loving being pregnant and her and Wesaly were excited to pick the baby's name and create a nursery for her.

Then came the ultrasound that changed their world. During the third trimester ultrasound, the doctor realized Kynslee had a major heart defect called Pulmonary Atresia. This meant that once Kynslee was born, the pulmonary valve would not work correctly as it was sealed and could not open. This is the valve that allows oxygenated blood to get to the lungs. It meant that now Corin and Wesaly were faced with the reality that their unborn baby was going to require emergency medical interventions at birth and would require heart surgery shortly after birth. The doctor decided to induce labor early in order to be able to have the specialists there to help guide what steps needed to be taken to save Kynslee's life. The birth would now be taking place at a trauma hospital as it is better equipped for a baby with this condition.

Little Miss Kynslee Rae was born on 02/25/21 at 4:12pm, weighing  8 pounds 5 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long. Such a beautiful baby with lots and lots of dark brown hair and the sweetest smile that just melted our hearts. Corin and Wesaly were proud parents! The doctors went right to work; determining the best plan of care for Kynslee, running tests, and later doing an angiogram to determine exactly what they needed to do to help her. On March 3rd, at 6 days old,  she went in for open heart surgery where they placed a shunt. They did find some abnormalities with the coronary arteries indicating that the heart could eventually stop pumping blood to itself properly, but the doctor didn't think it would be an issue until later on, if at all. The doctor concluded the surgery had gone well. She was a brave little one- such a fighter! Then a couple of days later, Kynslee started having some complications with high blood pressure and fluid around her heart. They had to place another drain to help drain the fluids and they had to place her on a ventilator again... Little Kynslee kept fighting for her life, showing everyone how strong she was. On March 7th she was able to get off the ventilator and she was stable. Things were looking up. They talked with the doctor and had discussed, possibly, Friday March 12th or Monday March 15th they would get to bring Kynslee home. Then, sadly, on March 8th, Kynslee had a heart attack and she lost her battle.  Heaven gained another Sweet Little Angel.

Corin and Wesaly have been through so much and they are heart broken! They did not have time to prepare for this emotionally, mentally, or financially... I have created this fundraiser for them so that we can help alleviate some of the stress and financial burden that they now face. I don't want them to have to worry about expenses in their time of need. We want them to be able to plan and have the memorial that they feel would honor their precious daughter. If you would like to contribute to this fundraiser, we would be most grateful. Any amount is helpful! If you feel so inclined to share this fundraiser with your friends and family, we would appreciate it. Corin and Wesaly, we love you! Kynslee Rae will always be loved and never forgotten.
