Baby Lenox Open Heart Surgery

Donation protected
My baby sister, Demi and her husband Zach had their second baby boy August 14th, Lenox Tallon. He was a healthy 36 week premie he had excelled in all areas from feeding well to gaining weight like a champ.

The morning of September 1st Zach and Demi endured any parents nightmare. Their sweet baby started crying super hard and went completely limp, pale, lifeless and was not breathing. Zach called 911 and they were rushed to the hospital by ambulance needing answers as to what just took place. Lenox seemed to come back around and was doing well when they got there. They were admitted to the PEDS floor and he had another episode of not breathing and had to be resuscitated twice. Their nurse Amy Goltz was a Godsend bringing him back to life by performing CPR. Thankfully they were able to intubate him and stabilize him enough to life flight him and Demi to Denver. Zach drove down and is with them now. Amazing Doctors and nurses in Denver are working on stabilizing him and getting him stronger to undergo open heart surgery in the next few days. He has a Coarctation of the aorta, Ventricular septal defect, and a bicuspid aortic valve. The coarctation is what caused his little body to shut down on Friday morning. So basically the aorta narrowed so much that it closed- causing no blood flow to his body. The ventricular septal defect is a hole in his heart. 1-5 babies usually are born with it and never know. They will go in and repair the Coarctation and the hole in his heart hopefully on Monday AM if he is stable enough. The bicuspid aortic valve they don’t do anything with and many people live just fine with it their whole life. He will have to be monitored the rest of his life incase it ever needs to be replaced at some point. As of right now we are just working on getting him stabilized and strong enough for surgery. He’s got lots of prayers over him and we are confident in the surgeons to help him get fixed up and be on the road to recovery.

Please continue to keep Lenox and The Tallon Family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all again for the outpouring of love and support.
