My name is Mike Zielonka and I'm a family friend of Chris and Kacie Rose. Kacie’s brother Cody Bowers and I created this page to ask you to help us support Chris and Kacie’s son, Logan Rose.

Logan's Story

Logan was brought into this world only a few short months ago and already he’s had to fight a tough battle. On 9/3, the day after being born, he went for a routine 24 hour check up in the nursery and never came back to his mother’s bedside. The family soon learned that when the nurses performed his blood oxygen level test, Logan’s oxygen level was much lower than the required 95%.

Logan was soon diagnosed with a severely restricted heart valve because a hole in his heart hadn’t properly closed and wasn’t allowing enough oxygen to his other major organs. He was soon rushed to the NICU where he stayed for 6 days. Then, just 13 days after being released from the NICU and finally being able to be taken home, Logan’s blood oxygen level dipped dangerously low to 60%.

On September 22nd he was admitted back to the hospital and placed on a ventilator which put him in a medically induced coma. The coma also left him medically paralyzed so that he could be monitored. For Kacie and Chris to watch their newborn baby hooked up to tubes and monitors, lying paralyzed, was an absolutely helpless feeling. After a couple days of being in a coma, the doctors scheduled Logan for open heart surgery on the morning of September 26th.

The days leading up the surgery, Logan’s health was so questionable that the surgery team was on call in case they needed to perform emergency surgery. On the morning of the 26th, Logan underwent a six hour surgery to repair his heart valve with a temporary patch. Thankfully everything went smoothly and he will not be needing to replace the patch with an artificial heart valve until he’s in his teens or 20’s. However, he will now need continuous medical treatment and yearly cardiology appointments.

Finally on October 27th, over a month after Logan Rose was born, he was able to come home with his family where he deserves to be. Chris and Kacie are thrilled to be able to hold him and see him recovering. His new big sister Payton is beyond excited to be welcoming him home as well. She has plenty of books she wants to read to him and is already offering to help hold and change him.

Now that the family is able to take a moment to celebrate the newest member of their home, we want to do all that we can to help ease them into a happy life with Logan. As you can imagine, the emergency medical bills have taken a toll financially which is why we’re asking for your support in covering the expenses.

Why Do We Need Your Help?
Currently, their insurance is not willing to cover the full extent of Logan’s medical bills and the burden of this is crippling. There are still many more medical bills that have yet to be processed and more to come in the future.

Why Do We Need Your Help?
*Insurance will not cover all of Logan’s medical bills and he burden of these expenses are crippling.
*There are still many more medical bills coming in the coming weeks and months.

How Will The Money Be Used?
The money raised will be placed in a trust for Logan and Payton.

What’s Next for Logan?
*For the rest of his he will need to see a cardiologist.
*Logan will eventually need an artificial valve. Hopefully not until his 20’s, but if the  patch doesn’t last he will need it replaced sooner.
*Logan won't be limited in life and will be able to chase any dreams he wants as he grows up. :)

How can you help?
