Baby Luka’s Treatment

As some of you have seen on the news. On the 27th August 2024 at around 12pm my friend Erna and I were sitting in Hanlon Park at Stones Corner in Queensland with our two babies (Parker and Luka) when a strange man came up behind her 9 month old son and poured a thermos of boiling hot coffee over his little body and then fled!

This was a callous, random attack on my friends baby. He does not deserve this pain and suffering.

CCTV footage has since been released by police and we have so much hope that the police are able to find him and get justice for Luka!

Luka is currently in hospital and is suspected to stay for a while, whilst he is treated for severe burns. He has a long recovery ahead of him which will include further doctors, specialists, hospital appointments.

UPDATE: Luka is no longer in hospital, his attacker is still at large unfortunately. Although he is doing well healing will be a lifelong journey for him with ongoing scar treatment throughout his life.

His family is so very grateful to the community for rallying around them in their time of need. Not only are the funds going towards Luka’s current and future treatments, it’s allowed his Erna to seek out professional counselling at this time and has also allowed her the opportunity to be able to stay home with her son removing the financial burden of having to return to work at such a pivotal time in not only her life but in Luka’s healing.

Erna Burgic has been listed as the beneficiary to this campaign. She is Luka’s mother and was also there the day this attack occured. Erna is the person overseeing the withdrawal and management of funds.
