Baby Lukis Medical-Funeral Expenses

Dear friends and family,

I’m coming to you again to ask for your support for Jessica and Luke Palmeri. On August 5th, at 6:58pm, via C-section, baby Lukis Gerard Palmeri made his entrance into the world. He was 3lbs 11oz, 15.5in long and had a head full of hair. He was baptized and confirmed shortly after birth by Fr. Michael Goldade.

Before his birth, Jessica and Luke spent many days at doctors appointments for their sweet baby which lead them to discover that he had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome(HLHS), a rare congenital birth defect. With more testing they learned that Lukis also had Trisomy 18, which is a rare chromosomal abnormality. Due to both of these conditions the doctors did not expect Lukis to go full term and that he would most likely be a still birth.

However, at 33weeks Lukis was delivered at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and was able to spend almost a whole day with his parents before he passed. Every minute was a gift as they knew he wouldn’t be here long with them. He passed away at 4:33pm on August 6th.
