Baby Malachi James Leffler

Hey guys. My name is Taylor Birdwell and I’m raising funds for my dear friend and doula, Erika, and her amazing family. As many of you know, they welcomed a sweet baby boy Sunday March 12th earthside. Malachi James Leffler is beautiful and loved and fighting a bit of an uphill battle. He was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome which essentially means the left side of his heart didn’t fully develop in the womb. He is currently in the NICU at Vanderbilt awaiting several surgeries. As there’s no real fix for this condition he will potentially need a heart transplant some day. The last thing I’d like this incredible family to have to worry with is any sort of expense. Whether it be medical bills, house payment, gas, hotel costs, food, necessities for their other littles, etc. I’d be eternally grateful if we could bear that burden for them.

In the book of James, we read “If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?”

We will all be smothering this family in our prayers, no doubt. But this is a practical way we can serve and come alongside them to show our tangible love. I hope we will come together and help sustain them through our giving during this hard time.

Thank you, Lord, for your provision over them thus far. We pray for continued healing for Malachi and wisdom for his doctors. Ultimately we know and believe you are the greatest physician of all and that you hold sweet baby Malachi in the very palm of your hand.
