Heather and Chris's baby Waylon has congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). He will be born at John Hopkins ALL Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg FL on October 5th unless there is a reason for him to come earlier than that . You can go to his Blog if you would like to read more. https://www.facebook.com/Warrior-Waylon-114254700330583/
Heather and Chris are from Allegan Michigan and have 3 other children. The baby will be born at John Hopkins ALL Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida and they will be there for months (the length of time is undetermined). There will be medical bills, travel expenses, food expenses, Right now the Ronald McDonalds house is closed due to Covid so we are still working those details out, because Heather has to be near the hospital after she is 36 weeks pregnant. I am sure you can see there will be expenses beyond the normal expenses of bringing a healthy baby into the world. . Heather just had her first two appointments at John Hopkins children's hospital and they are giving Waylon a 95% survival rate but at other Children's hospitals he was only given 30%. He will have one surgery right after birth to fix the CDH and then another surgery after that for acid reflux. There are other procedures that may be necessary depending on his lung function. There will be appointments at John Hopkins all childrens hospital once the baby is released. It is absolutely necessary for Waylon to be born at John Hopkins All Children's hospital.
Please view his blog above to read the severity of his diagnosis and updates with the doctors including the team that Heather met at John Hopkins.
Thank you for reading and we appreciate any help you can give.
