Baby Marquardt - IVF Journey

Donation protected
We are Samantha & Ryan Marquardt. We are 1 in 8. In 2018 we celebrated our third wedding anniversary. We are proud to live in a small town in Kentucky where everybody knows everybody. Ryan is a volunteer firefighter and works full time assembling fitness equipment and Samantha works full time as a rehabilitation technician/caregiver. Samantha is beyond blessed to call her self a step-mommy to the best 8 year old on the planet who will be the best big brother and repeatedly asks when we are getting a baby.

From the beginning we knew we wanted to grow our family but had know idea how complicated it would actually be for us. After years of prayer, frustration and anger and wondering why something so simple that everyone else didn’t even have to try for was so hard for us we began to seek help. Feeling the guilt of wanting a biological we decided that we wanted to adopt. At that point we felt as if conceiving  was in God's will for us then it would be.  After putting ourselves on a waiting list with an agency we kept feeling a tug that wouldn't go away. A tug to go in the opposite direction. Frankly adoption never really felt right to begin with however we felt like we needed to pursue it because it was the "right thing to do". We thought long and hard about the situation and realized that even though at first we did not want to pursue medical intervention we would greatly regret  not doing so in the long run.

That's when we decided to see a specialist who discovered what all other doctors up until this point had failed to discover. At our very first consultation appointment it was discovered that both of fallopian tubes were severely blocked with toxic fluid build-up. The tough decision was made to ultimately remove both of my tubes for the best chance of a successful pregnancy. The catch was no In-vitro Fertilization was now our ONLY option to be given a chance to conceive and carry a baby. Having to become completely sterile at the age of 27 was a hard pill to swallow but ironically, for health reasons it was the best decision we could have made. We have swallowed our pride and got creative in ways to be able to grow our family. We have done so many things to help raise money to be able be able to afford IVF. We have made and sold wooden signs, we have cleared out all of our clutter and sold for money. Last summer we held a huge yard sale along with a silent auction. We have designed and sold t-shirts which can be purchased here to help --->https://www.bonfire.com/babymarquardtadoption/. We also have a small side business make and selling baby bows which can be purchased here ---> www.etsy.com/shop/walkbyfaithbabyco. We are now working on an heirloom quilt that has been a community effort.  We are grateful for the opportunity to be able to pursue these various outlets in order to raise money to make our dream come true, however we still are not financially in a spot where we can begin treatment. In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) is estimated to cost us anywhere from $12,000 - $16,000, with medications along estimated at $4-5,000.

We know that God will provide and make a way and we will walk by faith, even when we cannot see because the God we serve keeps his promises, He is faithful and He is able and He just so happens to specialize in miracles. Our journey and God’s plan for our lives together is in His hands and we hope you will join us in our journey and support us in growing our little family.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
