Baby Mason O'Leary Open Heart Surgery Fund

My name is Janette, and I am organizing this fundraiser for Mason O'Leary - Kieran O'Leary and Linray Layter's new baby. I am Kieran's godmother and have known him his entire life. As Kieran grew up, our families would meet on vacation and have the best time together, making memories.

I am incredibly happy for him, his partner Linray, and their families that they have welcomed a new baby into their family. Hearing that Mason was born with a serious heart abnormality was heartbreaking. Shortly after Mason was born in August 2022, it was discovered that he had aortic stenosis and a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) - a hole inside his heart and a narrowing of one of the most important vessels in the heart. Kieran and Linray learned that Mason would need open heart surgery to fix these problems and that he would need it ASAP - at only a week of age.

Mason's recovery will be long and require Kieran and Linray to take time away from their jobs, travel to appointments, and put incredible stress on them as new parents. Moms of children with heart problems have told me that only a heart mom can completely understand what it is like to have a child in that position. While I have never experienced that, I hope that we can help them here in this way. I hope this fund will ease the pressure on them at this time, as they put all their energy into assisting Mason to heal and get back to the business of being a gorgeous, happy baby.
