Baby Morgan was born to Alexandria Heng and Codie Tart late on Friday, the 26th of February. Everything seemed fine at first, but shortly after his birth he began struggling to breathe.
After several days of anguish for him and his new parents, we were told he was most likely born a bit earlier than anticipated. When they were told she was 38 weeks along, she was most likely only 36 weeks. His lungs were not fully developed, he is jaundiced, and has other complications. The doctors stated they anticipate he could need to be hospitalized for days, weeks or months. They are unsure how long it will take him to heal because every premature baby is different. Morgan's condition is constantly changing, and the medical staff sets daily goals for him to reach.
Morgan has been in the NICU since late the night he was born. Both Ali and Codie are able to stay in the room with him. While this is ideal so they may oversee his care, this also causes unforeseen stress and financial hardships. Both of them recently purchased their first home together, and neither of them will have enough paid time off to sustain their bills, multiple meals to be delivered daily, and unforeseen medical bills. We are also unaware of how his premature birth will affect him in his growth and development in the next several months.
Our family appreciates any help received. We want the parents to only concentrate on Morgan's health and happiness, and one another rather than worrying about finances.
