Dear friends and family.
We have never been the ones to ask anyone for anything in a time of need, but now, more than ever, I am asking for prayers, support, and kindness. Our son, Myles Robert Smith was born on 8/26/2022 and after a brief hello, was rushed to the NICU as he was having trouble breathing. It started with oxygen, then CPAP was initiated. Shortly following the CPAP, Myles was put on a ventilator. He slowly improved and was taken off oxygen. We were very hopeful he would be coming home this week, given his consistent progress. When we arrived this morning everything was seemingly normal, then out of nowhere, he starting having trouble with his oxygen, had a 200 BPM HR, oxygen plummeted, and things took a drastic turn. We are now being lifted to UMICH for additional testing as his condition has rapidly decreased, with no explanation or cause. As our son desperately tries to be the super hero we know he is, every super hero needs hope, prayer, and faith.
If you do pray, we are asking for all the prayers you can give, but also your support as our friends and our family, through these difficult times.
If you know us, the last thing we would ever ask from our friends and our family is money, and I know you all know that, we just have never been in a situation as we are now, with the potential of bills stacking up due to the medical severity and needs for our son.
We greatly appreciate anything, anyone can offer or help us with through this series of extremely unfortunate events and have started a go fund me to help with the medical expenses insurance will not cover.
Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we try to maneuver through this situation as best we can, given the circumstances.
