This is for my daughter Zoey , her husband Pierce. Here is her story. They live in Kansas state. This is for funeral and bills that are racking up and food.
I know everyone has been wondering what’s been going on the past few days and I’ve been holding off on posting until I’m mentally ready but I’m honesty just tired of repetition and having to go over everything over and over. Anyways, on the 27th, the night before my induction, I went into labor. I arrived to the hospital at 4:45am on the 28th and discovered I was already dilated to a 6. They couldn’t find the baby’s heartbeat. They finally found it and it was very low, barely hanging on and lost it just seconds later. I was rushed into an emergency c-section. At 6:04am, Preston was born. He was not breathing and had no signs of life. After about five minutes they were finally able to resuscitate him. I didn’t get to meet him for about two hours. I still haven’t been able to hold him to this point. They rushed him to children’s Mercy in KCMO. Here, he is on a ventilator that is completely breathing for him. They found he has significant brain damage that will never reverse. He will never be able to breathe on his own, move on his own, he doesn’t even respond to touch, light, anything. Machines are the only thing keeping him alive at this point. I’m heartbroken to say the least. I longed for the pst nine months to bring a beautiful, healthy baby boy home and that went away in a flash. They don’t know exactly what caused this but they are guessing he had a kink in the umbilical cord which prevented blood from getting to his brain. I’m so happy to have the little bit of time I could have with this precious baby boy. I fell in love with him the first time I heard his heart and felt his kicks. I wish the time could last forever. This is Preston Elliott Beasley. He was born on December 28th, 2022 and 6:04am. He weighed 7lbs 6oz and was 20 inches long. He has the most beautiful black curly hair, the cutest chubby cheeks and the most adorable little toes and I’m so glad I got to see it all and feel him when I did. This weekend we are warming him up after doing a 72 hour cooling procedure to see the extent of damage. After he’s warmed, I can finally hold my precious little boy and absorb his last few moments just loving him. I’m so thankful for the amazing support we’ve had through all of this, especially my family and Pierce’s family. I couldn’t be more thankful for the staff at children’s mercy as well for taking such amazing care of us and our baby boy.
