Baby Rafael Kaleth & Yaritza's Medical Expenses

Baby Rafael Kaleth Alamo Guzman was born May 16, 2021 at 26 weeks 6 days. Baby Rafael weighed 1 lb 3 oz and was breathing on his own.
     Yaritza Guzman was diagnosed at 20 weeks of her pregnancy with Marginal Insertion of Umbilical Cord. Because of this condition, she was at a high risk of loosing the baby and needed to be monitored twice a month. On May 6th, 2021, at 25 weeks, she was flown to Overland Regional Medical Center in Lenexa, KS due to a complication with the umbilical cord condition. The nutrients delivered to the baby through the umbilical cord were being refused by him and returned to the placenta. This was causing the placenta to over work trying to deliver the nutrients.  There, the medical team tried to delay a C-section as much as they could in order to give Rafael Kaleth the chance to reach 28 weeks.
     On May 16th, her doctor decided that an Emergency C-section was needed after the umbilical cord became stuck after the baby moved and changed his position and he was having to many episodes of decelerations (drops in heartbeats).
    Our tiny hero has to stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, getting the support he needs until he reach his due date on August 18, 2021.  We created this page to help with this unexpected medical emergency and the costs associated to it.
    Any donation received will be truly appreciated and will help with Yaritza and Baby Rafael's medical bills, housing in Kansas City during the  time that Baby Rafael stays in NICU, gas, and any other need that the baby has. Rafael and Yaritza already decide that any remaining amount if any, will be donated to a family with a similar situation and/or March of Dimes.
