Baby Raheem's Heart Surgery

Raheem was born in the Bahamas on May 13th, 2021 to Ruth and Raye. After birth, baby Raheem was noted to have a murmur or irregular heart sound. This condition can be caused by several different factors, but in Raheem's case it was caused by a hole in his heart. After 18 days of life, the murmur and hole were still present during Raheem's check up appointment. Due to the extent of the problem, he is now required to see a pediatric heart specialist on a different island from where the family lives. After the first appointment, they were told Raheem will need surgery in the near future due to hypertrophy of both ventricles. Raheem has to see the heart specialist every two weeks until surgery. Each appointment costs $1,220.80. We are unsure of the total cost of the surgery, but are estimating it to be a substantial amount. Ruth and Raye do not have Bahamian passports or secure jobs due to the pandemic.

My goal in making a GoFundMe was to ask for financial assistance, but also to have a platform to ask for prayer for Raheem and his family. This little man has a long life ahead of him and I know God has big plans for his future!
