Baby Rhylans Long Journey ahead

Donation protected
Hi my name is Sharnah Chapman (Rhylans Mum) and I have set up this go fund me page to try and help myself and my family to try and take this burden and stress off of us at this very traumatic and hard time. As Rhylan battles and pushes through the unknown.
On Thursday 29th of June, Rhylan was flown to Adelaide by RFDS to be transferred to Women’s and Children’s Hospital. My beautiful boy who is 15 months old, is currently battling and fighting against strep A pyogenes.
Rhylan has developed a lung infection and is battling with RSV. The infection has made its way into both of his leg muscles where there is severe pain and swelling. Rhylan is unable to walk, sit or stand and will most likely need to learn how to walk again. This infection has turned into bacteranemia and is septic in his bloodstream. Drs are concerned it has gone into his bones, but we won’t know if it has made its way in the bone until more blood tests are taken in the upcoming days.

We will be facing one of the most hardest parts of this journey where Rhylan will go under a general anaesthetic and will have a PICC line inserted up the inner side of his arm and placed inside the chest beside his heart. At this stage, he will remain in Hospital for 2 weeks to recover.

This has been one of the hardest and most difficult times of my life. As a mum, watching a child go through such trauma, pain and suffering, It has left me feeling helpless and so heartbroken. I just want to be able to cuddle my baby boy and keep him comfortable.
My precious little boy is fighting ❤️ please keep us in your thoughts

Any donations will go towards all of rhylans medical costs, travel to help us in such a very difficult and stressful situation, You are all very much appreciated. ❤️

My little man will need to be sent back to Adelaide next week to have his 3rd surgery. This will be our 8th trip down since June. Unfortunately he is very high risk for avascular necrosis which is also known as osteonecrosis. It’s death of the bone tissue from permanent loss of blood and oxygen supply to the bone. It Is causing him pain and discomfort and will limit his physical abilities and can have complete loss of joint function. It does require urgent medical attention.

There is a major sclerotic change to his left proximal femoral metaphysis (the femoral head, also known as growth plate) which may lead to him needing bone grafts or a hip replacement later.
Rhylan will need to have his hip cut open again, as there is another hip effusion which is a collection of fluid.

I appreciate those have been supportive and have followed us on this difficult and hard journey. Our little boy is very loved❤️
