On October 14, 2019 my Sister n law and Brother got unexpected news from the doctor that their baby girl Rishell Joy has Hydrops: fluids in the lungs, heart, abdomen and generalized skin edema. The survival rate of her condition was low. They didnt know if she would survive, and if she did she would have a higher possibility of complications. November 25, 2019, was a planned C-section at 34 weeks gestation. Rishell Joy Duff is in the NICU and continues getting better. She was in critical condition but stable. She was born with small lungs, small kidney and unknown conditions for other organs. We are hopeful and have a positive outlook that she will fight and thrive. The doctor mentioned that she might stay several months up to 1 year in NICU, it depends on her improvement. Rishell has been in the NICU at Childrens in Pensacola until yesterday, when she flew on a jet to UAB. We are hoping they can help find more answers to heal Rishell. My Sister N Law and Brother also have another child. They are 9 months apart. This has definitely been the hardest time of their lives. Vishell is a nurse but is unable to work because she has to be at the hospital with baby Rishell. Baby Rishell has been in the NICU since November and her stay will be unknown.
