Baby Ruby's race against cancer

Donation protected

Ruby Jade is an active and happy 20 month-old.  Or she was until this past Tuesday.
On Monday she and her family moved from Florida to St Louis after surviving but being wiped out by hurricane Irma.  That first day in St Louis Mom noticed Ruby was limping so a trip to the hospital for Xrays revealed fractured bones  and dark spots on the bones in both her legs.  Ruby was transferred immediately to  Cardinal Glennon Children's hospital where tests found a tumor in her stomach and the cancer spread to her bones and lungs.  Today, Friday, she had surgery and that nasty  tumor was successfully removed.  Baby Ruby will start chemo as soon as she heals from the surgery.  And then,  she still faces a year or more of intense treatment...bone marrow procedures, chemo and maybe more surgeries...all before she is 3 years old.
The good news is the doctors say that with good treatment, Ruby has better than 50/50 odds to get well, go to school, and grow up to be a beautiful young woman.
The family is struggling financially and doesn't have a home or an income yet.  Ruby has a lively 4 year old brother and an 11- year old sister who, being blind and handicapped, has many medical needs of her own.  The family is staying with friends right now. Dad hasn't started his new job yet and of course right now he is totally focused on being there with Mom for Ruby as her full diagnosis and prognosis is identified and medical treatment planned and begun. They have minimal insurance coverage and Ruby's treatment will undoubtedly be terribly expensive.  They need funds right away to pay for gas to travel back and forth to the hospital, for food, housing, and family living expenses etc   and to start paying for Ruby's hospital and doctor bills.
Ruby is a cute and loving toddler with big dark eyes that make you fall in love with her at first sight.  Some of her favorite things are swimming with Dad in Aunt Donna's pool, riding in the wagon with her siblings, running and playing outside with her brother and puppy.
Can you help make sure Ruby gets the treatment she needs and has a chance to grow up like any little girls?  ...a chance to graduate from school and live a long, happy and healthy life?
Thank you and God Bless you for any help you can give.
