Medical Expenses for Baby Ryan's NICU Stay

Donation protected
Update 7/16/23:

Thank you so much to all who have donated and shared the GoFundMe page! Kevin and TeriJeanne were able to pay some expenses and TeriJeanne was able to travel home for a few days to see her older children. They are incredibly grateful for the support from everyone, it means so much!

Baby Ryan is doing well and now weighs 2lbs 9.3 ounces. They have increased her CPAP flow rate from 5 to 6 L/min to help open her lungs and increase her oxygen with the goal to wean her back down to 5 L/min. She is continuing to thrive and doing well with her tube feeds. Ryan also had a blood transfusion on Tuesday (7/11) and the pediatrician has reassured that this is very common for most babies who are in the NICU. She was back to her spunky and active self following the transfusion.

Thank you to all who have donated and shared the GoFundMe! We so appreciate your love and support. We will continue to keep you updated throughout her journey. She is such a fighter and so strong!

7/9/23:

TeriJeanne and Kevin have had a long journey during their 4th pregnancy with twin baby girls. At 21 weeks on May 3rd, TeriJeanne was airlifted from John Day by helicopter to OHSU due to concerns of her water breaking. She was discharged the next day and at that point knew they were going to have a long road ahead through the remainder of her pregnancy and decided to continue care with OHSU. This meant traveling back and forth for weekly appointments from John Day to Portland.

They received heartbreaking news that Baby B had a severe bladder obstruction along with other medical complications and they lost baby girl Austin on May 15th. TeriJeanne continued to travel back and forth for medical appointments at OHSU to monitor Baby A. On June 7th, she had just returned home from an OB appointment and was immediately airlifted back to OHSU due to concerns of leaking amniotic fluid. On June 9th, she was admitted to the hospital with plans to be at the hospital until her due date in September. She spent the next 15 days in the mother/baby unit, while her husband and 2 other children were 6 hours away in John Day. TeriJeanne’s family was at home continuously checking in with her. Her husband was working on a job out of town, while Grandma watched the kids at her house.

Kevin and the kids were able to come for a visit over the weekend and on June 24th little sister decided she was ready to be born. TeriJeanne’s water broke at 4:30am and baby girl Ryan Marian was born at 11:07am at 28 weeks weighing 1lb 15oz via emergency c-section. Kevin was able to spend a few days with Mom and baby before needing to head back home to John Day for work. Baby girl Ryan will be in the NICU at least until her formal due date in September.

TeriJeanne is staying on a local family farm in their RV, but still a 45 minute drive every day to the hospital. Beautiful baby Ryan is thriving, but she and the family have a long road ahead. They have been through so much the last few months and have had to put jobs on hold. Kevin and TeriJeanne are self-employed with no paid vacation time or sick leave, impacting job sites and ability to pay bills.

TeriJeanne and Kevin a constantly helping others and are now in a time of need. Kevin will be frequently driving back and forth from John Day and Grandma will be watching their 2 other children. Any donations will assist the family with bills, gas, housing, food, and other expenses the family may incur while baby Ryan is in the NICU for the next 12 weeks. They have a long road ahead, but this sweet family is so strong.
