Baby Spinach is a young kitty at 3 years old, much too young to be in his situation. In the last month, he’s been through:
- Being diagnosed with FLUTD. (Usually not seen in cats until age 4).
- Being catheterized for a urinary blockage and kept overnight for two days at the Emergency Vet.
- Becoming reblocked within 6 hours of coming home (our vets told us this is the fastest reblocking they’ve ever heard of).
- Having to get a PU surgery (perineal urethostomy) and spend another overnight at the vet, which meant he had to get his external genitalia fully removed.
- Having to be in his cone of shame for three weeks, only one week in now!
We love Baby Spinach so much, and we came incredibly close to having to put him down over this situation. Thankfully, VEG of Asheville was gracious enough to extend a discount to us for his surgery, but we still ended up having to pay almost $5,000 out of pocket between his two vet visits.
If you have any ability to help us with these expenses, we would be incredibly grateful. My partner and I are both recovering from sudden job losses and can barely afford to feed ourselves, let alone pay these bills and feed Baby a new prescription diet that’s going to cost us almost $200 a month (and his continued vet expenses).
Baby Spinach loves you, and if you’ve ever met him, you know that’s true!
