Baby Thompson IVF fund

Hey everyone,

First off, thank you from the bottom of my heart for even clicking this link! So many of you have been following Michael & I in our infertility journey for the last 4 years and we are so grateful for all the love and support you have shown us! They say it takes a village to raise a baby, and so far you all have proven that sometimes it takes a village to even conceive a baby!

Our backstory:
Back in 2018, I was on my way to graduating nursing school and Michael had just proposed. We knew based on my past medical struggles with PCOS and uterine fibroids, that trying to conceive a baby would most likely take longer for us than other couples. I had an evaluation done with my OB/GYN and she told me to come back in a year if we hadn't gotten pregnant. That year came and went, I started my nursing career at OSF in Labor & Delivery, and now had insurance that provided some low-intervention fertility benefits. My doctor wanted to start us on Clomid for ovulation right away! This request was denied by insurance due to me and Michael not being married at the time. Instead, we started Metformin for my PCOS. Once our wedding came, we tried again to get coverage for the Clomid! Insurance once again denied the request because we had not been married for a year, and would not acknowledge the 2 years of trying we had previously done. We explored private insurance options but nothing was within our budget. Once our first wedding anniversary came, and we finally got approved for Clomid! January 2021 we did our first round of Clomid and went on to do 6 more, plus 2 rounds of lutrezole and 2 failed IUI. Amongst these 4 years we have had 2 chemical pregnancies, multiple surgeries, and every diagnostic fertility test you can think of! We discovered my left ovary does not ovulate, and my right fallopian tube is completely collapsed. After all of that my doctor and I have decided our last option is IVF. I changed jobs amidst the IUI's and have ended up with some IVF coverage!

All of that being said, we are starting this fundraiser to ask our village for your support to cross the finish line of IVF. Over the last two weeks since I began testing, treatment, and hormone priming, we have been slammed with multiple thousands of dollars in unexpected costs, from an increase in medication protocol, to procedures being rejected by insurance after they were completed. We are so close to starting the stimulation medications needed for egg retrieval, but we must get over this hurdle to do so, as the clinic cannot proceed until our billing balance is zero. Any funds raised will go directly to these bills as we are on a tight timeline to make this cycle work! Anything remaining after our medical bills are paid will be used to cover future medications, ultrasounds, copays, and lodging in Indianapolis near our IVF clinic!

Our savings has been exhausted. We always have and will continue to put every dollar and every bit of our hearts into this journey! We know that baby Thompson is worth it. If you could find it in your hearts to help us reach this goal and overcome this last obstacle, it would mean the world to Michael, big sister Leah, and I.

Thank you for reading this far, and if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing the link!

So much love to you all!
