Baby Tyler Smith Hospital Funds

As some of you know, Kassy & Austin found out some of the worst news new parents can hear during Kassy's 20-week sonogram. Their sweet baby boy was diagnosed with "Heterotaxy Syndrome" - this is a very rare and complex heart condition a baby can have where many organs can be formed in the wrong position, abnormally, or just completely missing. This can cause some major heart issues and other abdominal organ issues that can impact him for the rest of his life. During Kassy's pregnancy, she was seeing doctors, surgeons, heart specialists, etc. every single week until baby Tyler made his big debut.

Tyler James Smith was born on February 17th at 1:13 am. After 30 long hours of labor, Kassy and Austin were able to meet their beautiful boy. He has already beat so many odds, as the doctors were not expecting him to be able to breathe on his own, and eat on his own!! He is truly a fighter.

Tyler had his first heart surgery on February 29th, 2024. Just 12 days old. There were no major complications, however, it took a few hours to get him stable after recovering from the surgery. They had to reposition his veins and arteries for his blood to flow through his heart and body correctly.

It is beyond heartbreaking for them to see their baby boy with so many machines, tubes, and scars from surgery on his tiny body.

Tyler still has quite a long road to recovery with more heart surgeries in the future.

Please consider donating to this family whether it is for medical bills (as it will be very costly), moving expenses (Austin is finishing up school in Louisiana and unfortunately will not be able to stay the entire time that Tyler will be in the NICU), or just general expenses that the Smith's will very much need on this journey they are on.
