Baby Wasser Fund
Donation protected
On Friday, December 7th, Ashley went to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for a follow-up ultrasound appointment. Baby Wasser was measuring extremely small so Ashley’s OBGYN wanted her to get a second opinion with a high risk specialist. The doctors were very concerned with blood flow to and from Baby Wasser as well as some respiratory issues. To further complicate matters, Ashley was diagnosed with preeclampsia which increased the risk of complications even further, and it also appeared that the placenta was not developing normally.
Ashley was taken to labor and delivery for a stress test where they discovered two major issues. First, Baby Wasser wasn’t taking practiced breathes like she was supposed to and second, blood was flowing in reverse from baby back to Ashley instead of placenta to baby and baby’s heart. Doctors rushed Ashley in for an emergency C-section to retrieve Baby Wasser as quickly and safely as possible.
Thankfully, the emergency C-section went well and little Adelynn was born December 7th at 1:58pm. Adelynn was born at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation (16 weeks early) at 1lb. 5oz. and 12” long.
Adelynn is currently under the best NICU care possible at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and is expected to be there until April. Scott, Ashley, and Adelynn have a very long road ahead them and need all the prayer and support we can give. As you can imagine, there are a number of expenses that need to be covered. Please consider offering your financial support to help the Wassers with the challenging road ahead of them and please keep baby Adelynn and The Wasser family in your prayers. Thank you!
