Baby Waylon, Rebecca & Tristan
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Katelynne Jones, and my sister, Rebecca Peterson, and her boyfriend, Tristan Thornton, had their beautiful baby boy, Waylon on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Rebecca's pregnancy was normal, and they were so excited to expand their little family. Everything was normal until Waylon made his entrance. When he was born, he was not breathing and had no pulse. They immediately took him from them to the nursery to examine him and try to keep him with us. During the time before he was moved, he was resuscitated without knowing what the extent of the damage was. The ICN (Intensive Care Nursery) team at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center was flown to Concord to pick him up and bring him to the ICN. Waylon made huge strides overnight but began having seizures on Sunday afternoon. Once they got them under control, they performed an MRI. Everything still looked promising. This was when they decided to perform genetic testing on the three of them. The results can take weeks to come back, and in the meantime, they performed another MRI today (the 8th). During this time, they discovered damage to the center of Waylon's brain and are unsure of the extent of the damage, and what his life will look like from here.
During this time, Tristan has had to return to work and cannot be at the hospital with Rebecca and Waylon, due to the risk of bills piling up and the care of their animals. I am asking everyone who sees this to donate, share, or whatever it may be to help them get through this time. Ideally, I would like to help ease the financial burden that comes with a situation like this. Our goal is set at $5,000 for rent, utilities, fuel for driving back and forth, food, etc. Hopefully, we can meet or exceed that in a short amount of time. We appreciate all of your help! We will update this page as we get updates.
