Planted on earth to bloom in heaven. We love you both the moment your hearts started beating.
On May 3rd, 2023 my sister Jenny and brother-in-law Tou were blessed with the news of not just one, but two identical baby girls. However, soon after Jenny and her twins were diagnosed with selective intrauterine growth restriction (SIUGR). SIUGR is the unequal sharing of the placenta causing one of her twins to have absent blood flow and not getting enough nutrients. Due to the growth restriction the smaller baby was measuring in the 1 percentile, being less than half the size of her sister. Jenny was classified as a high-risk patient and therefore she had to go to 3 different hospitals and be monitored 2-3 times weekly.
On July 25th, 2023, their world was turned upside down when the doctors discovered that the smaller baby had fluid in her stomach near the liver. My sister and brother-in-law were sent home with the recommendation of considering Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA). As parents, we all wish that our children can grow up strong and healthy, however with my sister and brother in law situation they were forced to decide between the two very hard decision of one being RFA, which is to terminate the pregnancy of the smaller baby to save the bigger one or Two, risk both babies and deliver at 24 weeks. The doctors sent them home to decide between the 2 options that they were given and were told to come in the next day for another ultrasound. However the next day, fate played us and to this misfortune, the doctor informed them that both babies are no longer here with them. With this tragic news, she was also told that within the next few days, she would have to return to the hospital to be induced and deliver the twins. On July 28th at 7:05 and 7:07 AM, Jenny gave birth to two beautiful stillborn babies, Zaia and Miku Chang
During this difficult time, my family and I are asking for your support. With only my brother-in-law as the sole provider for the family and my sister being a stay at home mom, any contribution big or small will highly be appreciated and will go toward lightening the cost of funeral/burial arrangements. Your contribution will help offset some of the stress, as the parents grieve the loss of their two newborn twins, Zaia and Miku. During this time we ask that you keep their family in your thoughts and prayers as we pass this storm. We thank you in advance for your support.
