Donate funds for cold cots for stillborn babies

Our baby Anthony Xander Fox Thompson was born on 22nd April 2020 at 5.30pm, heartbreakingly he was stillborn at 24 weeks old. We received the devastating news less than 24 hours prior that doctors could not find a heartbeat and that he had died.
On the morning of 22nd April, we were admitted to the Tulip Suite within the labour ward of Ninewells Hospital. At 5.30pm Kerry gave birth to a fully formed baby boy. The reality of what was happening then set in and the grieving process for our baby began. This process was made easier in that we were provided with a cooling mat which sat in the Moses basket which enabled our baby to stay with us after the birth and overnight. A cooling mat preserves a stillborn baby’s body so that he/she can remain with the family whilst they are in hospital. Although this device does extend the time a baby can stay with the family in hospital we have since became aware that another device exists called a “cold cot” or a “cuddle cot” which fully surrounds the baby and extends the time a baby’s body can be persevered even further and more effectively and can also allow a family to take a baby home which bypasses the distressing thought of sending the baby to the hospital morgue, which we personally found very distressing.
We would like to fundraise money that will be used to buy these cold/cuddle cots which will be donated to the Tulip Suite for parents in the future to use who have to go through the devastating experience that we did as we know this will bring them comfort.
We would really appreciate you supporting our fundraising efforts by donating as little or as much as you can to help create an everlasting memory of Anthony that will support future parents of stillborn babies.
Tony and Kerry would like to personally thank the midwives, consultants and all staff who helped us through this heart-breaking time and we are extremely grateful for everything you done for us and our baby Anthony.
