Bringing Home our Son

Let’s start with what we know as truth: “To all who received Him, and to all who believed upon His name, He gave the right to become children of God, children not born of natural descent, or human decision, or a husbands will, but born of God” John 1:12-13.   This is a picture of how we are adopted in Christ.  This is and has never been on our own merit or accord.  Christ sees us in our helpless state and adopts us as his own.  What a joyful rescue!  As a result of our spiritual adoption and the call repeated in God’s Word, we are delighted to inform you of our plans to begin the process of adoption. 

                We (Hugh and Morgan) thought we were called to adopt domestically; yet the Lord has other plans. We are now in the process of bringing home our six year old son from China. We are still  using Lifeline Children’s Services.  Many of you know that Morgan was a social worker there prior to birth of our twins, Ally and Bailey Grace.  We firmly believe in their mission to care the orphans and widows. James 1:27.  

                We are currently in the midst a paper chase and waiting process. Our God will fund His Kingdom.  We primarily desire you to pray. Pray for the protection of our son as both he and we wait for God’s timing. We are asking that to be before the holidays yet we trust His ways.   Pray for strength for our family as we endure a process that we know may be difficult.  We are not ignorant that addition to our family may stretch our abilities.  However, that is not hard.  Hard is wandering across several countries in the middle East/Europe without a home to escape inexplicable terror.  Hard is being one of the 153 million orphans worldwide or one of the 5,000 children in Alabama in foster care.  Hard is living life without the knowledge of the Father of the fatherless.  We invite you to come along side us in this process.
