Baby or Bust! WE DID IT!! THANK YOU

As most of you know, my daughter, Lindsay and her husband, Jon have been struggling with infertility for over two years now. It's been quite a roller coaster ride of extreme highs and lows, that have included the sheer joy of finding out they were pregnant three times, to then having to accept the devastating news that each pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. For different medical reasons, and with the expert opinions of their doctors, Lindsay and Jon decided that their best chance for having a baby was to go through IVF. However, just like trying to conceive naturally; for them, there have been many trials and tribulations with IVF as well. The latest exciting day was on June 12 when the long awaited "Transfer Day" finally arrived. This is the procedure when the doctor transfers a healthy embryo into the uterus. Unfortunately, a week later they learned the sad news that for some unknown reason, the embryo did not take.
So this leads us to the present and what their next step is, and that is to do a second transfer with the two remaining embryos, hopefully in mid August. Fortunately, up until now, their insurance has covered most of the different costs of IVF and a lot of the medications that Lindsay has had to take. But unfortunately, the cost of the second transfer, which is $3,000.00, isn't covered. Because the timeframe is so short, and the bills for procedures Lindsay has already had are starting to roll in, this financial challenge is virtually impossible for them to achieve. This is where Lindsay's sister, Katie and I thought we needed to get creative and try something in addition to having a gigantic garage sale and praying for Linz and Jon. We do acknowledge that asking for financial donations is extremely awkward for us. And although Lindsay and Jon have agreed to giving "Go Fund Me" a shot, they too, are "nervous about what people might think." On the flip side, as we thought of all of people who have so lovingly supported Lindsay and Jon in prayer, or have asked them 'what can we do to help,' we thought why not give people an easy opportunity to help support them with this important next attempt at becoming parents.
As most of you probably already know, "Go Fund Me" is when people can set up an online campaign to benefit anyone who needs financial help. We've set the goal for $3,000 because that is the cost of the second transfer. We also know that Lindsay and Jon will be forever grateful and touched by even the smallest donation. We love you all, we thank you for reading through their story, for considering donating and for keeping Lindsay and Jon in your prayers.
With love, Jan and Katie
