Back Akela Jones' Journey to Olympic Glory
Donation protected
Akela Jones, one of Barbados' most decorated athletes, is training for the 2028 Olympics with a historic goal—winning the island’s first-ever Olympic gold. To make this dream a reality, she will begin training with elite coaches in Kansas this spring. However, housing and daily expenses of $1,500-$2,000 per month pose a major challenge.
Akela’s achievements include:
Gold in long jump at the 2014 World Junior Championships
NCAA Heptathlon Champion (2015)
Bronze medalist in high jump at the 2015 Pan American Games
Barbados’ flag bearer at the 2016 Olympics
With only one Olympic medal in Barbados' history (bronze in 2000), Akela’s journey could be groundbreaking. But she can’t do it alone. Let’s come together to support her quest for gold!
