Morris Rugby High School Boys Team
The program is intended for students in high school, grades 9-12. Training sessions are designed to develop the skills necessary to succeed at this exciting sport, focus on fitness, running, passing and the strategic elements required to ensure a fundamental knowledge of the game. It will also ensure players are properly prepared if they wish to continue their rugby playing careers into college and beyond.
The program is run as a full contact sports activity with matches scheduled against other local community and single school programs, as part of the NJ State Based Rugby Organization (SBRO). USARFU Certified rugby coaches from the Morris Rugby Club make up the coaching staff.
The Rugby New Jersey 15 a-side season of league fixtures typically runs from March to the end of May. League games are usually played on Sundays. When possible, we look to play non-league scrimmages and also enter 1 or 2 tournaments during the year to introduce players to teams from outside the local area. We aim to provide players with opportunities to be successful in the High School sides matching boys based on skills, experience and ability with the strength of the opposition.
We are fundraising for travel expenses so we can attend the 2026 North Carolina Ruggerfest in the spring. It takes a village to keep our team together. We appreciate all your support.
