Imagine you're hired to produce your dream project: a film about the ways in which we could return our climate and planet to a safe and stable state. But then you find out - once you've committed everything - that a big chunk of the promised funding has just evaporated. Do you walk away? Or do you keep pushing on, because everything we know and love is at stake?

Well, we knew we couldn't walk away.

The Climate Restorers - Back to Our Future is a 4-episode series showing how it should soon be possible to repair our climate and planet - using a number of simple, nature-based methods to remove CO2 and methane from the atmosphere, at scale, and help return our climate to a safe and stable state.

This is a passion project for us, into which we have poured our hearts and souls for the future of a stable climate and planet. Unfortunately, we've been working in Africa most of our adult lives and just don't have the savings to absorb the loss of promised funding. And yet - everything is incredibly urgent on climate solutions.

We're John Bowey and Phoebe Barnard: a filmmaker and a professor of global change science and environmental futures, and a husband-wife team committed to telling stories that can change our civilization and bring about a much more positive future than what you might fear.

This fundraiser supports production and distribution costs of The Climate Restorers - Back to Our Future - an urgent narrative-shifting contribution to a fast-destabilizing climate, planet and society.

Together and with a talented and award-winning small team, we interview some of the world's top scientists and technologists, who tell us how this can be possible if we can scale up new, nature-inspired technologies, while rethinking our relationship to this planet. We also interview the economists, justice advocates, wisdom-keepers, activists, youth leaders and others working to make it happen.

Your donations will help us hire the young staff to help us accelerate production, and to interview young voices around the world on our responsibility to repair our planet and climate.

The way out of this mess is partly science-based. But it's never been just about science. It's about ALL of us, regardless of our politics and beliefs, understanding where we stand, what needs to be done, and what we need to do to get there.

The world doesn't have to be this way, or end this way - we can still change it.
