Back to School Braid & Style Event

Hello! My name is Jenny and I run Sonshine Braiding here in the Austin area. As a professional braider, I have witnessed that undeniable glow that follows the first look in the mirror and it never gets old. I love being able to braid for little ones and serve others through volunteer work within the community. Those two very special things led me to see how I could help support clients at SAFE Alliance in late 2021 and in 2022 the Back to School Braid and Style Event was born.

This year, on August 3rd and 4th, the 2nd Annual Back to School Braid and Style Event will take place and we need your support to make it even more amazing than last year.

At this time we are in need of funds to purchase products and accessories needed for on site styling and to provide clients with tools and products for maintaining their look. Donations will also be used to purchase afro/curly textured hair care products and tools for SAFE staff to distribute to clients as needed. *For those of you who aren't familiar with the Sonshine Braiding x SAFE partnership - it is one that was born out of my desire to help those in crisis and transition feel seen, valued and confident despite their current circumstances.
