Back to School Braid & Style Initiative

Hello everyone, my friends at SAFE Alliance reached out to see if Sonshine Braiding could assist with braiding/styling hair for approximately 30 kids and teens currently in care at their Austin shelters.

The truth is, I won't be able to accomplish this without your help! We are in need of funds to purchase products and accessories for on site styling, as well as cover appointment costs for services we may need to book out. *Any gifted funds, over the goal amount, will be used to purchase afro/curly textured hair care products and accessories for children and families at the shelter.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the SAFE & Sonshine Braiding partnership it is one that was born out of my desire to help curly kids/families in crisis and transition feel seen, valuable and confident despite the turbulence they may be experiencing. Earlier this year supporters of this initiative helped raise $500! That money was used to purchase products and accessories and gift them directly to shelter residents on behalf of Sonshine Braiding clients, friends and supporters.

For this Back to School event, we are operating on an extremely short time frame and are hoping to pull this off before August 6th. Please share this campaign far and wide so we can help these kids in care start the school year out feeling their best!
