Back to School in a Drought

With most of us being parents and coming back to work from the new year – the next few weeks are largely rushing around to get the kids supplies and uniforms etc ready for another school year.
While half of our state has been devastated with the fires, there is a large percentage of our state that has dropped off the radar but is equally affected by the weather patterns.
Our rural farmers are in the worst drought period they have ever experienced.
I grew up spending half my time at my grandparents farm in rural NSW. These time bring back fond memories of being on the land and being exposed to our beautiful countryside.
Visiting this area over Christmas was devastating. While they have been living through drought conditions for literally years – I’ve particularly noticed a rapid decline in the country in the past 6-12 months.
I’ve never seen crops so dry, animals so gaunt. Farmers having to spend so much money shipping in additional stock and feed, which they are struggling to do. These tough men and women sacrifice every day for their families never complaining.
The simple task of funding kids back to school items is overwhelming for these farmers that are already struggling with their livelihood and our Australian way of life.
We want to take a small burden off these families and show them that we are there for them and have not forgotten their plight.
I have a stationery company ready to assist us with supplies
For $100 per child we can provide them with backpack, stationery, books and folders they need for their classes in 2020
