Help Support Independent Yoga In Boston

The new Back Bay Yoga Union needs community support to continue the mission of independent yoga for Boston!

In the best of times, a yoga studio is a low margin labor of love, and recent years have not been the best of times. Our industry did not receive the kind of support other industries received despite being among the hardest hit.

Despite months of forthright negotiations towards a lease renewal, Boston Yoga Union has been unable to reach mutually satisfactory terms on a lease extension for its current space, as a direct result of the long tail of COVID.

Thankfully the practice teaches us to be FLEXIBLE.

Tim has formed Back Bay Yoga Union, as the sole owner-operator of the new studio at 364 Boylston Street, Boston. Many of us have deep roots in that space, and what makes a home is the people in it. But it needs alot of TLC to get the vibe together. We have to execute a very quick move to keep our teachers teaching and the yoga flowing.

The process leading to this moment has been very difficult on many levels. It is complicated as a for-profit enterprise to ask for donations and community support, but we at Back Bay Yoga Union are determined to give the community a new home. So, when life gives you lemons, make a beautiful new yoga studio!!

Here is a breakdown of where your donation would go.

$10,000 - To defray legal expenses involved in the lease in new business entity, Yoga Union LLC

$1,500 - New Business Launch Expenses - website, photoshoot, mat wipes!

$3,500 - PR and Marketing for Back Bay Yoga Union - Get the word out!

$10,000 - Moving and Rehabbing the new space - Labor, paint and elbow grease -

$5,000 - To help support a record number of BIPOC applicants to the teacher training program.
