Our Story
We are Kya and Chris, a young couple in our 20s who recently purchased our property in Bella Vista. Due to a complicated situation, more than 30 dogs were left behind with nowhere to go. When it became clear they had been abandoned, we took matters into our own hands.
We are not a professional rescue, just people doing everything we can to keep these dogs safe, fed, and cared for while we work to find them loving homes - but we can’t do this alone.
Our mission is to find these sweet, beautiful dogs their forever homes.
In the meantime, we are fronting the cost out of pocket, and are turning to our community for help. We've been providing them food and water, comfort with blankets, and a large fenced enclosure to keep them safe from predators like coyotes and mountain lions. We spend over $200 per week in dog food alone, and to get these dogs a clean bill of health and a spay/neuter would cost us additional thousands.
With every dollar raised, we can continue to help these dogs thrive as we help match them with their new owners. Furthermore, to help fight against the overpopulation of wild dogs in Shasta County, we'd like to use funds for helping spay and neuter these pups before sending them off to their new homes. Spays and neuters are expensive, as much as $350 per dog, but is a much needed operation for the health of the dogs, and the health of our county.

How Funds Are Used
While our goal is to get these pups rehomed, in the meantime, we take pride in managing their lives to the best of our ability. This includes food, water, and protection from the elements.
Your funding will go directly to:
- Food and clean water for dogs who were left behind
- Vet care to treat illness, injuries, and neglect
- Spay/neuter and vaccinations so they can start fresh
- Safe shelter, bedding, and protection from the elements
- Transport to vets, fosters, and loving new homes
- Training and care to help them trust again
