Backpacking Across America on $0.01 for Suicide Prevention
Detraibile fiscalmente
*This fundraiser is a continuation from a fundraiser for 988 Lifeline, we reached $706 on that fundraiser but was halted as GoFundMe's payment partners no longer support them.*
Hello, my name is Andrew Lin. I'm an aspiring content creator who's raising money for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
In the United States, roughly 3 people attempt suicide every minute, with one person dying by suicide every 11 minutes. This is an extremely saddening statistic that can be prevented. With September being National Suicide Prevention Month, I would like to bring attention to this issue by backpacking across America starting from $0.01 for the next 30 days (starting on 09/05/2024).
Mental health has played a vital role throughout all my life, and especially for loved ones around me. Around a year ago, a close family member of mine was extremely close to having their life taken by suicide. If it wasn't for having others there and supporting them, they would not be here today. Hence, I understand the importance of having the support of someone during a difficult and dark time.
All the funds raised from this challenge will go directly to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. To learn more about what they do and their impact, see their website here .
