Backpacks for Kawasaki Kids Foundation

Hi, my name is Aliya and I am a leadership student with Ripple Effect Martial Arts, working to earn my first degree black belt. As part of my community leadership project, I am helping to raise money for the Kawasaki Kids Foundation Backpack Program.  The backpacks are given to families by doctors and nurses upon diagnosis of Kawasaki Disease. During the actual diagnosis, families are confused, have questions, and have probably been in and out of doctor offices and hospitals with multiple misdiagnosis — and need support and smiles now more than ever. The backpack program is set to do just that!  Backpacks are filled with comfort items, toys, games, gift cards, and information on Kawasaki Disease.  To date, approximately 200 backpacks have been distributed.  The cost of each backpack is about $60 and I would like to provide at least 10 backpacks to the foundation.
